Gretton Science Day - a family day out to remember!
Saturday June 14th from 11.30am to 3.30pm in Gretton Village Hall and on the playing field. Put GL54 5EP into the satnav and come along.
There will be over 40 different activities - experiments, challenges, displays, demonstrations, puzzles and hands-on activities. Here are just some of the things you can do:
• Programme a robot to walk, talk and throw things
• Watch 3D printing, or a heart being dissected or bluetits nesting.
• Look at the sun through a solar telescope
• Design a plane – and find out if it will fly
• Make an erupting volcano, plaster casts of animal footprints, or an electromagnet.
• Find out your heart rate ... or if your hands have microbes on them ... or how magic tricks fool your eyes into believing the impossible
• Collect minibeasts and look at them under a digital microscope
... and much, much more.
Refreshments are available all day – ploughman's lunches, salads, hotdogs, home-made cakes and drinks.
It's £2 for adults and £1 for children. After that, all the activities are free – including plenty of car parking on the playing field. Sorry, but no parking in the village.
So put it in your diary - Saturday June 14th from 11.30am to 3.30pm.You don't need to be a rocket scientist to join in!
