03 Dec Tourist Information Centre
For information on attractions, where to stay and what’s on in and around Winchcombe
Visit Winchcombe TIC. Please call in to the centre and we will be happy to help you make the most of your visit. TIC can provide you with travel information, great ideas of places to visit, leaflets, Gloucestershire events and book accommodation.
Did you know that the TIC sells several books on the history of Winchcombe; beautiful Winchcombe Tea Towels designed by local artist Katie Morgan as well as Cotswold calendars? These are ideal for sending in the post to friends and loved ones in other parts of the country and many items can fit into an A5 envelope and be sent second class post for as little as £1.22.
For anyone interested in ‘the dark side’ of Winchcombe, read Weird and Wicked Winchcombe by Anne Crow. Chapters include ‘Murder’, ‘Treachery’ and ‘Black Magic’! Another of Ann’s books is called A History of Winchcombe in 50 Objects. It gives a fascinating insight into the town’s history by looking at selected objects in the museum including a Winchcombe banknote and a gloving donkey.
Open: April – end October – Monday-Sunday 10am-4pm
Winter opening: November-end March-Saturday 10am-4pm Sunday 10am-3pm
